Most Ugandan schools do not have libraries and, as a result, reading culture and literacy rates in Uganda are very poor. All our students start reading the moment they join primary one. This has helped them to improve on their grades that has partly contributed to academic excellence in their studies. The reading culture has further been productively promoted through organizing reading activities that the learners engage in.

The library at Arlington Junior School has a total of 472 patrons that are active members, including students, staff, parents and community members.  The patrons are able to access our library using the library card system given to each member by the school after registration. We have a collection of over 10,000 books and still counting. Thanks to our sponsors, partners, our sister school Arlington traditional school in America, friends, donors, and the government of Uganda for the unconditional support to our library.

The Marianne and Jeremy Rusk Library at Matuwa Junior School was made possible by the Rusk Children and their families. The Library is the first in the district and one of the jewels of the school. Construction has recently finished and work is being done to furnish the library with books, computers and furniture.  This will be a space for the entire community to enjoy and we are thankful to our generous donors.
