Each year, REACH for Uganda hosts a breakfast or Picnic to celebrate the community of supporters who make our work possible. Join us for Pancake Brunch and White Elephant sale to support our programs in Uganda! We transform lives and communities through education, healthcare, and community development. Eat your brunch while supporting a good cause! We shall enjoy brunch in the dinning area downstairs and have a White Elephant sale on the top floor at the Woman's club in Arlington

Donation Guidelines for the White Elephant Sale: 

We invite you to look around the house and find something you might not use again but which someone else might find fun to own. Donate the item to REACH for our White Elephant sale on June 6, 2026. Come enjoy brunch and discover some fun finds!

 

Drop-off Dates, Times, and Location  

  • 8:00-10:00 a.m., Sunday, 4/26 at the REACH 5K Race, Bluemont Park parking lot at 601 N. Manchester Street, Arlington (directions) Note: Carole will be there to collect items, & have donation forms. 
  • 10:00 a.m. – noon on the following Saturdays at REACH office at: 511 N. Edison Street, Arlington (directions)

 Donation Guidelines:

ALL Items must be:

  • In very good or excellent condition
  • Not broken or missing parts
  • Clean
  • No larger than 4’ x 4’ in size. 

Items NOT accepted:

  • Furniture, bean bags, mattresses, or box springs
  • Plants
  • Clothes
  • Automotive parts, chemicals, oil, or wiper fluid
  • Large household appliances
  • Non-flat screen TVs
  • Building materials, lighting or plumbing items
  • Unbound carpets or area rugs
  • Gas-powered tools
  • Medical supplies, crutches, and portable toilets
  • Cosmetics and hair care products
  • Firearms or fireworks.
  • Hazardous materials and paints.
  • Children’s items including strollers, car seats, highchairs, playpens, changing tables, bassinettes and baby walkers.
  • Anything that does not comply with Consumer Product Safety Standards (1-800-638-2772 or www.cpsc.gov)
  • DONORS – We would appreciate your help in labeling your items using the guidelines below. If you don’t have time, we can help.
  • Donated items not sold will be taken to Goodwill at the end of the sale. If you want to reclaim an unsold donated item, you will need to pick it up the last half hour of the sale (3:30-4:00 p.m.) 

Labeling Guidelines:

  • Use 2”-3” wide masking tape or blue paint tape to label all items (no exceptions). Labels should be 2”-3” long for visibility.
  • Use a dark-colored Sharpie or similar marker
  • Things with multiple parts should either be taped together or put in a ziplock bag that has been taped shut
  • Labels should follow this order
    • Brief name of item
    • If needed, a description of what the item does
    • Cost (dollars and .50 cent increments only – no .25 or 75 cents)

Goods must follow these guidelines and cottage laws
